Summary:
Provide technical support on Redhat production and development systems and software products for the configured services. Provide VMware support to create and install, manage and configure IT infrastructure solutions , including hardware, servers, and virtual machines, using a VMware environment such as vSphere. Coordination with vendor in Hardware and Software solution troubleshooting. Provide technical support for the migration of production and development systems and software products for the configured services running on Solaris Zones which are configured on Veritas cluster.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Administer Redhat Linux and Veritas Cluster. Provide support during migrations and DR activities. Test the changes and handover to customer ,Troubleshoot technical issues, Participate in Problem management reporting , Providing RCA , resolution and documentation in ticketing system Work with teams, vendors and consultants to determine strategy for complex system changes, upgrades and implementations, Develop configuration and procedural documentation. Manage, maintain & Troubleshoot ESXI, Virtual Center & Other VMware datacenter solutions like NSX-T, vSAN in the environment. Installation and Configuration of Veritas Cluster , Migration of Solaris Zones between DCs , test the changes and handover to customer ,Troubleshoot technical issues, Participate in Problem management reporting , Providing RCA , resolution and documentation in ticketing system Work with teams, vendors and consultants to determine strategy for complex system changes, upgrades and implementations, Develop configuration and procedural documentation.
Professional & Technical Skills:
• Administer Redhat, Veritas Cluster and Vmware, Solaris 10 and 11, Veritas Cluster, LDoms, Zones.
• Troubleshooting of issue and vendor coordination
• Volume manager and filesystem management
• Planning, implementation, and upgrade of packages, patches Proactively monitor and health check of servers, manages system resources to assure maximum system performance and appropriate additional capacity for peak periods and growth Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning Necessary action performed on security & risk assessments.
• Plans, configures and implements features on the Sparc and x86 platform that improve availability, response time, and monitoring of key system metrics. Provides support to the user community-using incident and problem management tools. Must be able to provide 24 x 7 on-call support based on a rotational schedule.
• Ability to write and understand shell script will be an advantage.
• Deliver strategic account support by operating and administrating customer IT Environment to ensure proper operation and availability
• Provide technical assistance and guidance
• Provide leadership in technical incident and problem management and in their resolution, working closely with end customers, remote and field support staff
• Participate/Drive ITIL based change management, problem management, incident management and attend Customer Change Advisory Board (CAB)
• Develop customer account relationships
• Coordinate technical activities for one or more customers
• Advise & implement new OS & Cluster patches/updates, OS Versions update
• Respond to security incidents
• Develop action plans to investigate and resolve complex issues/problems and clearly communicate these to engineers, customers and/or relevant managers
• Create and install, manage and configure IT infrastructure solutions , including hardware, servers, and virtual machines, using a VMware environment such as vSphere. Coordination with vendor in Hardware and Software solution troubleshooting.
• Monitor client systems daily and detect problem areas. They proactively design and install application updates, versions, and patches based on release by vendors. In addition to that they also update drivers, servers, and firmware and keep the environment hardened and secured
Good verbal and written communication skills to connect with customers at varying levels of the organization – Ability to operate independently and make decisions with little direct supervision – Flexible to work in 24/7 shift.
Additional Information:
1 Bachelor’s degree.
2 ITIL V3/V4 Foundation certified.
3 Redhat and Vmware certified
4. Certification on cloud technology will be an advantage
